Gabriela Fighetti
Deputy Executive Director, Innovation in Public School Choice (IIPSC)
Gabriela Fighetti, Deputy Executive Director, joined IIPSC in September 2014. Previously, Fighetti served as the Executive Director of Student Enrollment for the Recovery School District from July 2011- August 2014. In that role, she developed enrollment policies and systems to ensure equitable access to the portfolio of school options in New Orleans. Fighetti managed the development and the implementation of OneApp, the New Orleans Public School Enrollment Process, which serves over 40,000 students through nearly 100 schools and programs, including public schools, early childhood programs, and non-public schools that participate in the state’s scholarship program for low-income families. In 2014, Fighetti was named one of Gambit Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 in New Orleans.
Before joining the Recovery School District, Fighetti worked for the New York City Department of Education for seven years. There she held numerous leadership roles in the Division of Portfolio, managing the enrollment projections process for the system of 1,700 schools as well as the facilities and expansion plans of charter school operators. Fighetti studied at Columbia University, earning a B.A. at Barnard College and M.A. in public administration at the School for International and Public Affairs.
