New Orleans Citywide Youth Survey
New Orleans youth deserve to have their voices drive the decisions made by policymakers, community and school leaders, and others that affect their lives. However, capturing diverse youth perspectives across the city is challenging. The Education Research Alliance for New Orleans (ERA-New Orleans) leads a coalition of school, community, and governmental leaders to survey youth about their opinions and experiences in New Orleans schools and neighborhoods. The members of our Steering Committee determine the topics for the survey, approve survey questions, help recruit participants, and assist in interpreting and disseminating the results. Schools that participate receive a report of their students’ responses, comparing them to schools across New Orleans, but remain anonymous in our citywide reports.
Who?
All schools within Orleans Parish that serve grades 6 to 11 are eligible to participate in the survey.
