Adrian Morgan

Chief Executive Officer, Algiers Charter School Association (ACSA)

Adrian Morgan is the Chief Executive Officer of Algiers Charter School Association (ACSA). The largest charter management organization (CMO) in the state of Louisiana, ACSA serves over 4,000 students on six campuses in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. All of the schools ACSA operates are in the community of Algiers, one of New Orleans' oldest neighborhoods. Being a truly geocentric CMO of significant size, ACSA is seriously committed to community and developing the youth and families who choose ACSA schools.

Prior to joining ACSA, Adrian served as Chief Operating Officer of FirstLine Schools (FirstLine), a CMO that operates five charter schools in New Orleans, serving 2,500 students with annual revenues of $25M. In this role, Adrian was responsible for all of FirstLine's finances and operations including financial management, forecasting and compliance and facilities maintenance, IT, food service, transportation, state reporting, and general day-to-day operations. Adrian had a lead role in growing FirstLine Schools from two campuses serving 700 students to the 2,500 students it presently serves - including the turnaround and management of a school that was originally operated by a different CMO. Prior to joining FirstLine Schools, Adrian worked for 4th Sector Solutions, a charter school consulting firm, where he specialized in organizational capacity building, school operations, and led the firm’s business development activities. Adrian served as the General Manager for 4th Sector’s Baton Rouge office where he led the team that provided start-up and operations support for five schools in the Recovery School District.

Adrian worked for Edison Schools Inc. from 1995-2005 in a variety of roles including Start-Up Project Manager, National Enrollment Manager, and Vice President of Business Development. In this latter capacity, Adrian worked with dozens of charter schools nationwide and has personally led the founding, start-up, and expansion of several highly successful charter schools. Adrian is a member of the advisory board of the NET Charter High School, an alternative charter high school in New Orleans focused on credit recovery and providing new life options for high school dropouts.

A certified teacher, Adrian holds a Bachelor of Art cum laude in History with a minor in Spanish from the University of Dayton, a Master of Arts from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. Adrian lives in New Orleans. When he is not working on education reform initiatives he enjoys reading presidential biographies, traveling, fine dining, and learning about the culture of India.
