Michael Masterson

Teacher, Benjamin Franklin High School

Michael Masterson has taught extensively in math and physics, as well as computer science, at the high school through university levels. He holds degrees in physics, mathematics, and digital electronics technology. Michael grew up near East Lansing, Michigan, and spent some time living in California. After teaching physics for a year in China, he came to New Orleans to teach physics and computer science at Isidore Newman School. He now teaches at Benjamin Franklin High School, the number-one ranked public charter school in Louisiana. He was a leader in organizing United Teachers of Franklin, affiliated with the America Federation of Teachers.
