The Edu­ca­tion Research Alliance for New Orleans and the Nation­al Cen­ter for Research on Edu­ca­tion Access and Choice (REACH) are hir­ing for two posi­tions: Senior Research Fel­low and Sci­en­tif­ic Research Ana­lyst. These roles offer an oppor­tu­ni­ty to con­tribute to our research and work on edu­ca­tion access and choice.

Senior Research Fellow 
The Senior Research Fel­low will lead objec­tive and rig­or­ous research on mar­ket-based school reforms nation­wide. Respon­si­bil­i­ties include man­ag­ing large edu­ca­tion data sets, con­duct­ing orig­i­nal research, and col­lab­o­rat­ing with our team and top edu­ca­tion researchers. The ide­al can­di­date will have: 

  • A Ph.D. in eco­nom­ics, pub­lic pol­i­cy, edu­ca­tion, soci­ol­o­gy, sta­tis­tics, or a relat­ed field 
  • Exten­sive train­ing in causal infer­ence methods 
  • Expe­ri­ence man­ag­ing large data sets and con­duct­ing peer-reviewed research 
  • Pro­fi­cien­cy in Sta­ta for data man­age­ment and analysis 
  • Strong com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills for pre­sent­ing research findings 
  • Abil­i­ty to build rela­tion­ships with var­i­ous stakeholders

    Sci­en­tif­ic Research Ana­lyst II 

    The Sci­en­tif­ic Research Ana­lyst II will sup­port REACH and ERA-New Orleans by man­ag­ing large pan­el data sets and assist­ing with quan­ti­ta­tive research projects. Respon­si­bil­i­ties include data analy­sis, project man­age­ment, and main­tain­ing con­fi­den­tial­i­ty. The ide­al can­di­date will have: 
    • A Bachelor’s degree in eco­nom­ics, soci­ol­o­gy, sta­tis­tics, edu­ca­tion, pub­lic pol­i­cy, or a relat­ed field with 2 years of expe­ri­ence, or a Master’s degree in a relat­ed field 
    • Pro­fi­cien­cy in sta­tis­ti­cal soft­ware appli­ca­tions, espe­cial­ly Stata 
    • Excel­lent orga­ni­za­tion­al, com­mu­ni­ca­tion, and inter­per­son­al skills 
    • Strong research and data analy­sis abilities 
    • Abil­i­ty to work inde­pen­dent­ly on com­plex tasks
