Now Hiring: Communications Manager & Post-Doctoral Fellow
November 3, 2023
ERA-New Orleans is growing. Come join our team.
Based at Tulane University, we are one of the most widely cited sources for research on the New Orleans school reforms and school choice broadly. With our focus on objective, rigorous, and useful analysis, our work has a real impact on local and national policy conversations. Ultimately, our hope is to improve the quality and equity of education experiences for all students. To accomplish these goals, we are looking for excellent candidates to be the next Communications Manager for both ERA-New Orleans and our partner center, the National Center for Research on Education Access and Choice (REACH).
Communications Manager As a research organization, how we communicate our results is central. Through our partners, the community, and media, we communicate in a growing number of ways: policy briefs summarizing the conclusions and implications of our work, research presentations for practitioners, small-group meetings with educators, and release events for our reports. We are looking for a communications professional to organize and lead meetings with partners, compose and edit reports and other external communications, manage our media presence (including web sites, Twitter feeds, and Facebook pages), and generally help communicate our research findings so they are useful to policymakers, practitioners, and the community. Post-Doctoral Fellowship In partnership with Tulane’s Murphy Institute of Political Economy, we invite applications from candidates who will receive a Ph.D. in Economics or Public Policy by fall 2024. In addition to carrying out research on the above topics, the successful candidate will teach one course at the undergraduate level annually and is expected to participate actively in research, seminars, and other activities at the Economics Department and the Murphy Institute. We are an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building and maintaining a diverse team and inclusive workplace that values equity. We strongly encourage applications from BIPOC, immigrants, women, and LGBTQ candidates.
