Education Research Alliance for New Orleans releases policy brief on changes in the New Orleans Teacher Workforce post-Katrina
While there is much debate about the success of school reform, there is one thing almost everyone, on all sides of the debate, agrees on — teachers are the most important school resource. This may seem obvious, especially to educators themselves, since schools are groups of teachers working together to help students learn. But there is growing evidence that teachers affect students’ long-term life outcomes and that performance varies considerably across teachers.
