The structure and governance of New Orleans schools have changed substantially in the nine years since Hurricane Katrina. However, it remains unclear exactly how schools’ practices and cultures have changed over this time period. Using teachers’ responses to survey data from both the pre- and post-Katrina periods, the Education Research Alliance examines changes in teachers’ perceptions of various school characteristics and practices, including the use of test data, teacher professional development and evaluations, and school climate.
