Beth is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Education Research Alliance for New Orleans.
She graduated with a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Tennessee in 2018. Her research focuses on choices that surround education with an emphasis on post-secondary education, although she has also worked on topics in taxation and health. She has examined how polio in mid-century America changed school enrollment behavior, how student loans taken out by parents end up impacting parental retirement behaviors, and how large-scale merit aid programs influenced take-up of student loans.
