Mrs. Rene Lewis-Carter has served as Behrman's Principal since 2005.

Mrs. Carter was recently featured in the October 2009 Edutopia article entitled "A Louisiana School Leader Answers the Call of Duty" After Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans principal Rene Lewis-Carter went above and beyond to reinvent her elementary school.
