The Edu­ca­tion Research Alliance (Era) for New Orleans co-host­ed a K‑12 Work­ing Group, in part­ner­ship with AEI, New Schools for New Orleans, and the Louisiana Asso­ci­a­tion of Edu­ca­tors, and Tulane’s Cowen Insti­tute and Mur­phy Institute. Six­ty pol­i­cy mak­ers, researchers, and edu­ca­tors from across the coun­try came to New Orleans to dis­cuss the cur­rent state of edu­ca­tion in the city and across the nation. In addi­tion to pre­sen­ta­tions about on-line K‑12 edu­ca­tion pro­grams, and up-and-com­ing edu­ca­tion­al tech­nolo­gies, Era’s Direc­tor, Dou­glas Harris, pre­sent­ed research about how par­ents choose schools.
