Carol Whelan

Director of the Tulane Teacher Preparation and Certification Program and a Senior Professor of Practice, Tulane University

Carol Whelan, Ph.D., is the Director of the Tulane Teacher Preparation and Certification Program and a Senior Professor of Practice in the Tulane Teacher Certification Program and has been with Tulane for ten years. She serves as the Paul Tudor Jones II Endowed Professor in Social Entrepreneurship. Prior to coming to Tulane, Carol worked for the Louisiana Department of Education serving as Assistant Superintendent and Director of Educational Technology. Her earlier experiences also include teaching at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette years, and teaching, counseling and administration in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. In collaboration with Tulane students, Carol has presented at the Ashoka U International Exchange Conferences at the University of San Diego, Arizona State, the University of Maryland, and at the Impact Forum '13 in Singapore.
