ERA-New Orleans will host a con­fer­ence on Fri­day, June 23, 2017, in New Orleans. ​The Teach­ing Pro­fes­sion in the Era of School Reform​will pro­vide a bal­anced and com­pre­hen­sive look at the recent evo­lu­tion of teach­ing under test-based and mar­ket-based account­abil­i­ty, informed in part by our recent studies in Louisiana and in New Orleans. The event will fea­ture local edu­ca­tors, admin­is­tra­tors, and non-prof­it lead­ers involved in the city’s schools, as well as edu­ca­tion schol­ars from across the coun­try. Pan­els will cov­er a wide range of top­ics, includ­ing the teacher pipeline, teacher unions and tenure, teacher eval­u­a­tion, and work­ing conditions.
